8 Common Types Of Diaper Rashes Diaper rashes can be termed as a major problem seen in babies of around 7 – 9 months. Diaper rash is a different kind of skin condition which can be seen around the nappy area of a baby. As babies grow these diaper rashes tends to reduce becuase the baby skin start becoming harder and less sensitive. Here are few most common types of diaper rashes seen in babies.

 
Atopic Dermatitis: The rashes appear between 6 – 12 months. It affects the body first i.e. they are visualized on the body first before affecting genitals.
 
Perianal Dermatitis: These rashes are mostly seen in bottle feeding babies and appear after they start taking solid food in their diets. The rashes are a result of alkalinity in baby’s stool.
 
Seborrhoeic Dermatitis: These rashes usually begin in the scalp area and are deep red in color. Yellowish scales are also seen with deep red rashes on baby’s skin. Though uncommon, but these rashes can also start from nappy area and can be seen spreading upwards.
 
Chaffings Dermatitis: These rashes does not cause any kind of discomfort to the baby unless the baby develops any kind of infection. It appears in the form of redness in baby’s skin. This is the Most Common type of rashes seen in babies.
 
Impetigo: These rashes are mainly seen in lower abdomen, thighs, and buttocks. They are a form of nappy rashes caused by two types of bacteria 1. Bullos –causing blisters 2. Non- bullos –causing scabs of yellow color with redness
 
Intertrigo : The rashes appear in folds of skin between thighs and lower abdomen occurring due to the friction of the skin rubbing against skin
 
Tidemark Dermatitis: This rash occurs by negligence of nappy tying by parents. They are a cause of nappy edge rubbing the skin leading to irritation.
 
Candidal Dermatitis: The rashes usually appear in abdomen and thighs and are most common in babies taking some kind of antibiotics. They are bright, red and tender rashes causing irritation to the baby.
