Educate Your Children About Safety In Simple Steps

It is quite difficult to keep an eye on your kid all the time. Kids must be encouraged to take good decision on thier own. Kids must be made aware of all the possible dangers that they may face in life and encouraged enough to take right actions on their own.

Its been observed that if you preach about some possible danger then kids are more fascinated towards it so its better to talk in a friendly manner without imposing our own thoughts. Generating confidence in kids to take necessary steps is very healthy and fruitful. This way you can avoid solving all the hurdles your child may face and train them from the tender age. Make the most of everyday moments and don't wait for the right time. A Relaxed family meal provides the perfect time to tech and educate your kids. Following are few basics which kids should be made aware of

 
Explain about Safety Signs in playing areas like parks or outdoors. Explain all the signs and their importance. You can also ask them and cross check what they understood about the safety signs.
 
Tech your children their Full Name, Address and Home Telephone Number. They should also know your name and office phone if possible. Make sure your children know how to reach you at work or on your cell phone.
 
Educate them about possible dangers at home this includes electrical appliances, sharp objects, kitchen accessories or staircase. Educate them and let them use their own mind. Keep an eye and figure out whether they understood the possible hazards.
 
Educate about emergency numbers like 911 and make sure they know how to call for help in case you are not with them. Introduce a trustworthy adult whom they can call in case you are not present.
 
Teach your children about Safety equipments like helmets while bicycling, skating, bowling or skateboarding. Educate about complex equipments like knee caps and help them understand how they can wear those.
 
In case they are alone at home, instruct kids to keep the door locked and don’t open to any stranger. Tell them not to bring anyone home in your absence.
 
Develop a habit in your kids to put on the seat belt every time he or she gets into a car. Children as always safer in the back seat.
 
Choose babysitter only after reference from friends or family. Pay a surprise visit and see how your kids are doing in your absence. Listen to your kids response about babysitter carefully. Give your emergency and alternative contact numbers to your babysitter.
 
Educate them about Road Safety signals and encourage them to use hand signals while bicycling. Tech them to follow traffic rules if possible.
 
Educate them about Earthquake, tornado and storms and show them the safe place where they should go to take shelter.
 
Educate them about First Aid and common bruises.
