How To Encourage Babies To Learn, Think And New Experiences

Children learn more in the first few years of life than in all the years that follow. They learn about relationships and feelings, about language, about how things work. One of the most important things they may learn or should learn is to love learning. Every child is born curious and this natural curiosity is what propels early learning. To fertilize your baby’s curiosity so it can blossom into a lifelong love of learning. I hope this guide will help you to encourage your babies.

Accept, encourage and answer questions. With so much to learn, it’s not surprising that once they can speak, babies ask so many questions. And though it may be tempting to ignore or put off your baby after the fiftieth. All of a young child questions deserve answers.

Accept and encourage exploration. A baby’s explorations may turn out to be a parent’s mess. But it’s through the exploratory process that babies make their discoveries, the world is full of fascinating things and events that your baby has to experience in order to learn about them.

Accept and encourage experimentation. The inquiring baby’s mind wants to know. What happens when i remove the leaves from the plant in the foyer? Of course when you don’t want to allow your budding scientist to destroy your home single handedly while testing hypothesis. When experiment takes a turn for the destructive or dangerous, stop them.

Expose your baby to variety of environments. Museum, playgrounds, supermarkets, mall, toy stores, parks, zoos and almost any safe and appropriate locale can provide learning experiences for the young.

Expose your baby to a variety of experiences. Swinging on a swing, shimming down a slide, splashing in wading pool, planting flowers, playing ball, scribbling with a crayon, ringing the doorbell. The possibilities are endless and everywhere. The experience alone is valuable, but your commentary can help make them more valuable still.

Expose your baby to fantasy. For a baby, there is so much to learn from fantasy, in books, movies, videos and the occasional television shows as there is from real life. Encourage make believe in your baby’s play: in the world of fantasy.

Discourage excessive TV viewing. The fastest way to click off a mind is to click on television set. True, a child can pick up information by watching carefully selected children’s television programs but the learning is passive.
