How To Introduce Juice To Your Baby's Diet

Study suggests that drinking juices should be avoided for babies who are yonger than six months. Although, juice contains Vitamin C and other supplimental nutrients which will tempt you to introduce juice to your baby’s diet.

If you are planning to introduce juice to your baby’s diet then here are few of the points which must be taken into consideration. Leave me a comment and share your experiences on how you have introduced juice to your baby’s diet.

Make sure you check the nutritional labels to ensure that the juices you have chosen are 100% juice and not fruit medleys or cocktails.

Most grocery stores have a baby aisle with juice specially diluted for babies. These juices also contain more Vitamin C than regular juices, but are also more expensive. You can dilute juice by at least half and half with water.

Try avoiding giving juice from a bottle or cup to suck all day as this may cause tooth decay.

Baby's can't digest juice at bedtime so try avoiding giving them juice at bedtime to ensure proper health of the baby.

Make sure you are not giving more than half a cup (150 ml) juice a day to your baby.

Sometimes baby becomes reluctant to drink water, in that case you can mix a little bit of juice to flavor the water. Never start this habit from the start otherwise your baby will never like the plain water.

If your baby is old enough to swallow the real fruits simply stop giving them juices. Real fruits don't have artificial colors and nutrients and are always best for babies than fruit juices.
