How To Take Your Toddler Out For Dinner

Taking your baby out for dinner may be relatively easier than taking out your toddler. One simple reason is babies cannot run around and toddlers cannot be tied to one place. Another reason could be babies can be fed as per the decided schedule and items while toddlers are aware and also want a lot of items at the same time. Hence when you take your little one out for dinner to a restaurant or food joint, you have to learn to put your foot down on certain issues, particularly if the chap is the one who creates scenes or is fussy. But they may also enjoy the party more than you do. It is especially good if you are in a group and if there are more little ones. Then you may not be bothered by your kid at all as they try to be a good girl or good boy all along.

 
The preparation starts at home. In case of toddlers you need to brief them on some manners and etiquette too. This is the right time to induce them to such things. Simple things like throwing tantrums, wasting food, spitting it out, playing with foodstuffs and all such things should be taken care of at home.
 
In this case too, you need to keep your diaper bag ready. Diapers and wipes, few toys, one spare dress, napkins are the things you will need. Also have either fruits or some food item with you. Many a times, kids find outside food very spicy and remain hungry. Then they start behaving in irritating ways.
 
You may have to take short breaks from the group you have come with. Toddlers will not remain in the restaurant seat tied up for too long. As they are in their learning process, they want to explore the things around them and they want you along. Do not get irritated, go with them. In this way they learn to socialize.
 
Always dress them in a comfortable attire. The trousers may be tight or the frocks may be rough which naturally causes irritation. Also watch out for a diaper change when required. The kid may feel embarrassed to declare it in front of everyone.
 
Kids of this age try to postpone the sleep time and may also get exerted beyond limits. They are not aware of their fatigue nor their hunger.
 
Avoid giving spicy, chilled and icy items to small kids. Also if you are a vegetarian, this is not the right time and place for experimenting. If the child is on some medication, maintain the time and the schedule.
