How To Travel Safely With Your Baby

Planes are considered to be the fastest mode of transportation to help the parents travel along with their kids. Are you worried about the questions like How to you prepare yourself to travel and how to safely carry your baby onboard? Well, the following article will help you to make your flying trip pleasant, safe as well as comfortable specially if you are travelling with your baby. Leave me a comment and share your flying experiences with us.

Arrive early enough to take care of pre boarding details like luggage and seats, but not so early that you have an uncomfortably long wait in the air terminal.

Consider requesting bulkhead seats. They offer more leg room, but less storage space for diaper bags, etc.

Pre boarding is an advantage offer to those traveling with kids, allowing them to settle in and stow luggage in overhead compartments before the rush.

Coordinate feedings with takeoff and landing. Babies are even more prone than adults to the ear pressure, and sometimes pain, caused by cabin air pressure changes during ascent and descent. Nursing or bottle feeding at these times encourage frequent swallowing, which helps prevent the painful pressure buildup and the fussing and crying that usually accompany it.

If your baby does do a lot of loud complaining, accept a kind hand from friendly fellow passengers if offered, and disregard those who are ignorant and uncompassionate enough to give your dirty looks.

Give your baby a lot to drink during the flight; air traveling is dehydrating. If you are nursing, be sure you, too, take extra fluids, but remember beverages with caffeine or alcohol don’t count.

If your baby demands warmed feedings, ask flight attendants to warm bottles and baby food for you. But remember to shake or stir thoroughly and to carefully double-check the temperature before serving to prevent scalding accidents, since microwaves can heat unevenly.

Deplane last, to avoid the squeeze and to be sure you time to gather up all your belongings.
