Tips For Creating A Baby Scrapbook

Sometimes having a baby can be shock to the system, all those dirty diapers, sleepless nights and bottle washing might not leave you with much time to make a scrapbook, this is something that you should consider. If you can take the time to document your baby’s life then he or she will be surprised to see what they used to look like. If you live in an area where baby scrapbooking classes are held, they are definitely worth a visit. Some specialty stores provide free classes. It is not necessary to start with the birth of the baby, you can take snaps of yourself whilst pregnant at baby showers and at a hospital having a scan etc. You can also include the photos of doctors and nurses and other fellow mothers. Now, in this guide, I am going to give you some tips for creating a baby scrapbook.

Always make sure you prepare well in advance so you don’t end up rushing about trying to decide what papers and embellishments you want to buy. If you know the sex of your baby then you can decide on the color scheme, otherwise choose neutral colors such as orange or yellow.

Always keep a pocket diary or note book with you so that you can write down what happened in the day and how you felt. Be sure that you take note of their first words and when they first walked. A snippet of it is also a nice touch.

If you feel that it will take too much effort then you can make life easier for yourself by buying a ready-made baby themed book.

Baby scrapbook themes memories have become the norm. In fact, the craft has evolved from simple photo albums to a constant mixture of photos, colors, embellishments and more. Every page has a scrapbook title, theme from summer baby, or a spring to vacation scrapbook.

Use the pages to document the baby’s progress throughout his first year. Each page can represent a month up to the baby’s first birthday. You can choose a theme of “little Sailor” by dedicating this baby boy scrapbook to newest sailor in the family. Style these pages with sailing and beach embellishments. In the same manner you can adopt the theme of King of the house, little princess, animal farm and Disney scrapbook, story book etc.

Always be sure about the size of the scrapbook when you start creating a scrapbook. Large page size may require more expensive paper and albums, but do make a bigger impression. Smaller scrapbook pages are easier to fill and can be printed from your home computer if you are interested in digital scrapbooking. The standard sizes for scrapbook pages are 12”x12”, 8”x8” and 8.5”x11”. Masterpiece can be created in any size; this is your personal preference.

After deciding the size of the scrapbook, next comes the page layouts, and those that have only one image are dramatic. This one image needs to be strong enough to carry the rest of the page. Consider positioning a single image in the lower right hand corner of the page. Put a circle of color behind a rectangle image. Make your picture black and white on a page full of color. Break a single picture into sections.

As a layout, create a portrait page; use your baby’s first official studio portrait to create a picture frame on the first page of the album. Pick out a nice background paper, as well as two coordinating papers and some lace or ribbon. You can use a welcome home page as a layout page, or a holiday page, the seasons, or vacations as the layout for the page.
