Tips On Keeping Your Baby Busy When You Work In The Kitchen

When you are at home with your infant, the most common problem is keeping the baby occupied when you are busy with you kitchen work. Most moms prefer completing their work when the kid has a daytime nap just after the bath. But babies have a real short nap and they are again fresh to get entertained after it. Therefore finally there is no alternative but to look out for some ways to keep your little bundle engaged and yet safe at the same time. No matter what you engage them with, one thing you'll have to do is to continuously communicate with your baby as you work and secondly to find out innovative ways to keep them engaged.

First thing that one needs to do is plan a safe place for the baby somewhere nearby. It could be a swing or a bassinet but it should be extremely safe away from elements such as fire, water and sharp instruments. Extra care needs to be taken if you have an elder sibling, as he or she might interfere.

Do not overlook the feeding times of the baby. You have to spare time within your work hours to interact with the baby and feed her.

Be armed with toys of various varieties so that the baby keeps on playing. However do not expect small babies to be by themselves till you finish your tasks. You will have to peep in at him/her to play and chat. That gives the baby an assurance that mom is there to play with.

Be sure that you change the toys the next day. Babies are quite sensitive to daily processes and they understand what the routine tasks are.

A playgym or playard are better options as the baby can lie down, change positions and may be even crawl a little and yet play with multiple toys at the same time.

Your cooking task must be flexible with a small baby. May be you need to take a small break every now and then to entertain her. So it is better not be so rigid about the task.
