Top Five Tips Of Baby Care For 0-1 Year Olds

Infants of age group 0-1 year are the most vulnerable lot. They need to be looked after delicately. Everything related to them like feeding, sleeping, development, vaccination needs to be handled with love and care. This is the stage when parents need to be more responsible. You need to make sure that your baby gets the best. There are some tips like those you follow in your pregnancy.

Here are few basic tips that you need to follow if your baby belongs to this age group-

Breastmilk is the best food for your young one. If you are breastfeeding, you need not give external feeds to your baby upto 4 or even six months. Consult the doctor when you feel that you are short of milk and the baby needs external feeds.

With small babies, avoid frequent or long travels unless they are absolutely necessary. Babies are sensitive and vulnerable to infections and changes in weather. Do not invite unnecessary troubles. Do not disturb her schedule as far as possible. Do not allow many people to handle very small infants. They get irritated and are also exposed to infections.

Follow the vaccination chart given by the doctor promptly. Mark the dates when the baby is vaccinated and maintain a record. Also follow the check up schedule if advised by the doctor. In the first year keep a check on the weight and height of the baby.

Extra care needs to be taken if the baby is a preterm kid or if she is not a healthy baby. Also if the baby has undergone any major illness or surgery you need to be more careful.

Be careful not to give outside food or water to small babies. Water (in case of 6 months and older babies ) when given should be preferably boiled and cooled or filtered. Avoid non vegeteranian foods till two years of age. They are heavy to digest.
